Home School Completion Procedure

Home schooling is an exemption from compulsory attendance under Oregon attendance law. According to ORS 339.010, any child between the ages of 6 and 18 years who has not completed the 12th grade is required to attend school unless they have an exemption under ORS 339.030.

Please Note: If a parent would like to have a student released from home school because the student has received a diploma or certificate of high school completion, the parent must provide LBL a statement from the awarding school or program indicating the agency by which they are accredited.
