Mr. Jason Hay to Become LBL ESD’s Next Assistant Superintendent

February 12, 2020

Mr. Hay consistently rose to the top throughout an extensive search process to become Linn Benton Lincoln Educational Service District’s next Assistant Superintendent.  Mr. Hay officially begins his Assistant Superintendent duties on July 1.  Until then, he will be working for LBL ESD part time throughout this spring to ensure a strong transition and to help with special projects.

Mr. Hay has been an educator since April 1997, beginning as an elementary school teacher in Chanhassen, Minnesota.  Moving to Albany, Oregon in 2000, he has acquired wide and varied educational experiences in our local region including substitute teacher, elementary teacher, middle school assistant principal, elementary principal, middle school principal, and curriculum director.  In addition, he has experience in human resources, facilities development and risk management.  He most recently served as Superintendent of the Dayton School District for two years.  Mr. Hay left his position in Dayton at the end of July 2019 and since August has been serving as a leadership coach and consultant for Peak Sports in Corvallis. Mr. Hay is a strong educational leader and learner who brings a personal “growth mindset” to his work.  He most notably enjoys supporting staff and coaching and leading leaders.

Jason was born and raised in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He enjoyed school and was successful but engaged mostly in Art and Industrial Technology Courses.  He has always been an athlete playing soccer, basketball, swimming, water skiing, running track and cross country, riding mountain bikes, and cross country and downhill skiing among other things.  He is married to Dr. Kristin Ziebart, Linfield Chemistry Professor, and has two teenage daughters.  Together they all enjoy reading, watching movies, camping, and participating in outdoor sports.

Important Message

LBL ESD is providing modified services due to COVID-19 and the statewide school closure. Please contact 541-812-2600 for assistance. Limited staffing during the closure will make response to public inquiry difficult, and some inquiries may be delayed until programs reopen.
