Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Features & Benefits

  • Focuses on prevention & verbal de-escalation skills
  • Provides tools for decision making and management of complex behaviors
  • Provides skills to recognize the stages of an escalating crisis
  • Teaches decision -making skills to match the level of response to the risk of the crisis
  • Teaches disengagement safety and physical intervention techniques within a risk assessment framework

Format & Details

  • Participants will complete an asynchronous virtual training component (approximately 4-8 hours), as a PREREQUISITE to:
  • In person full day training which includes synthesis and application of materials as well as physical intervention techniques. Location in ALBANY to be determined.
