Verbal Intervention training Features & Benefits
- Instills confidence and skills to verbally de-escalate disruptive behaviors and prevent further escalation
- Ideal for staff who don’t experience higher risk situations that may require restrictive interventions
- Provides a broad range of tools to help staff manage their own emotional responses and identify escalating behaviors in others
- Teaches effective approaches to keep the “emotional brain” from taking over in stressful situations
- Provides situational assessment skills and practical de-escalation strategies to recognize and understand potentially escalating situations
Format & Details
- Participants will complete an asynchronous virtual training component (approximately 2.5 hours), as a PREREQUISITE to:
- In person 3 hour training which includes synthesis and application of content
