- VERBAL INTERVENTION TRAINING FEATURES & BENEFITS:
- Builds confidence and skills to verbally de-escalate and prevent escalation
- Designed for staff not typically involved in high-risk situations requiring restraint
- Equips staff with tools to manage their own emotions and recognize escalating behavior
- Teaches situational assessment and practical de-escalation strategies
- Participants will complete prerequisite asynchronous virtual training (approx. 2.5 hours)
- 8:30-12pm

- NON VIOLENT CRISIS INTERVENTION TRAINING FEATURES & BENEFITS:
- Includes Verbal Intervention Course instruction
- Offers tools for managing complex behaviors and informed decision-making
- Teaches recognition of crisis escalation stages
- Builds skills to align response level with crisis risk
- Covers disengagement safety and physical interventions within a risk assessment framework
- Participants will complete prerequisite asynchronous virtual training (approx. 2.5 hours)
- Materials and course fee (set by CPI) apply. No fee is assessed by LBLESD.
- 8:30-4pm
- REFRESHER TRAINING: VERBAL INTERVENTION OR NONVIOLENT CRISIS INTERVENTION
- Verbal (8:30-12) or NCI (8:30-4) with no prerequisite virtual training
- Reviews core models and strategies from initial training
- Practices physical interventions and holding techniques
- Provides scenario-based problem-solving opportunities
- Shares updates on new physical options and learning models
- Reinforces key concepts like trauma-informed care and proactive strategies
- Materials fee (set by CPI) applies. No fee is assessed by LBLESD.
