
Countdown to Event
Who: Novice educators are invited, along with their mentor or instructional coach. Although encouraged to attend as a mentoring pair, mentees are still welcome if not assigned to a mentor or if a mentor is not able to join in this offering.
Mentors are asked to only register if their mentee will be joining. Mentors are also invited to join our yearlong community of practice designed for those supporting novice educators. Please click here to learn more about the New Teacher Mentor Academy and to register for the 2026-27 school year.
What: This virtual community of practice will provide:
- Time for connection and learning between mentor and mentee pairs as well as with others in a similar role
- Opportunities to gain support for problems of practice
- Engage in learning about timely topics
- Time to delve into our required texts, Mentoring in Action and its companion, First Years Matter for the mentees
- Time dedicated to exploring The Classroom Management book as a resource
When: All sessions will be held on Zoom from 4:30-6:00 pm. Outside reading will not be required.

How: Stipends will be provided through the WREN for attendance and for completing an artifact of learning. More details about stipend requirements will be shared before the first session.
Participants will need to acquire the required texts for this offering, but the provided stipend will cover the cost.
