Overview / Description

This interactive session is tailored for technology, leadership, and cybersecurity professionals, enabling them to work through realistic scenarios that strengthen organizational readiness to handle a cyber incident.

What to Expect

  • Navigate a simulated cybersecurity incident developed in collaboration with government and insurance partners—reflecting the real threats and operational challenges facing K-12, special districts, and local governments.
  • Collaborate with peers across tables to improve communication, decision-making, and coordination during a real cyber event.
  • Engage in a collaborative learning environment to explore strategies and best practices for building resilience against cyber threats.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and develop clear steps to enhance your incident response plans by working through scenarios with your peers.

Why Attend?

This joint tabletop exercise brings together K–12 leaders, Special District professionals, and Local Government officials for a collaborative day of hands-on learning and preparedness. Facilitated by cybersecurity and emergency management experts, the session will:

  • Simulate real-world cyber incident scenarios relevant to schools, cities, counties, and public service organizations
  • Strengthen cross-team and cross-sector communication, coordination, and decision-making under pressure
  • Help participants identify vulnerabilities and leave with actionable steps to improve incident response plans
  • Support insurance documentation and compliance efforts by demonstrating preparedness activities

Who Should Attend?

  • K–12: Technology teams, cybersecurity professionals, district leadership, and administrators
  • Special Districts: IT staff, operations managers, executive leadership, and public service administrators (utilities, fire, water, health, transportation, and more)
  • Local Governments: City and county IT staff, emergency managers, administrators, and executive leaders

Participants are encouraged to attend as a team, but individuals are also welcome — solo registrants will be grouped with peers to fully participate.
