Thanks to the support of our partners, Little Free Libraries stocked with bilingual, STEM-themed books are being placed in rural communities across Oregon’s Linn, Benton, and Lincoln Counties, including the newest location installed at the Linn Benton Lincoln Education Service District. These libraries provide young readers with access to stories and resources that spark curiosity in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math—while also strengthening early literacy skills.
With only 42.5% of Oregon students meeting proficiency in English and language arts last year, initiatives like this are making a tangible difference. By placing books directly into the hands of children and families, our Little Free Libraries help lay the foundation for lifelong learning and open pathways to future success.
This shared effort between the Mid-Valley STEM-CTE Hub, LBL Early Learning Hub, Family Connections, and Oregon Coast STEM Hub demonstrates the power of community partnerships to inspire the next generation of innovators.
