New Teacher Mentor Academy Kickoff – August 14, 2025 – Knife River Training Center, Albany

Morning Session: 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.

MENTOR & MENTEE CONNECTION & COLLABORATIVE LEARNING

  • For anyone who is new to the New Teacher Mentor Academy and/or participating in the NEW Mentor Mentee Connect community of practice (separate registration)
  • Gives participants the chance to connect and build relationships
  • Time to explore provided text used throughout the year

Catered lunch provided.

Afternoon Session – 12:30-3:30 p.m.

REGIONAL MENTORING TEAMS: CONNECTING, COLLABORATING, AND CREATING

  • For mentor leaders, mentors, and others who support new teachers
  • Designed for district teams to connect and collaborate around the challenges and successes with their unique programs. We will have the opportunity to imagine the journey we would like our novice teachers to experience at the beginning of their careers, assess our district supports, and share ideas to strengthen mentoring across the region.

Arrive at 11:30 a.m. to enjoy a catered lunch.


New Teacher Mentor Academy – Yearlong Virtual Course

5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Each Month

For anyone supporting novice educators including mentors, cooperating teachers, instructional coaches, TOSAs, and administrators.

  • Participants will receive a stipend per session
  • Year 1 Sessions alternate between a community of practice where participants learn about new tools and resources, while also engaging with other mentors around their problems of practice and Educators Thriving sessions, which provide participants with the research, strategies, and resources to proactively support the social and emotional well-being of new teachers, with the goal of moving them from barely surviving to thriving.
  • Year 2 participants will engage in 5 new sessions of Educators Thriving
