Upcoming LBL ESD Synergy Training Events
Getting Started
In order to be properly prepared to use Synergy in the fall, we recommend following these steps:
- Watch the “Synergy Navigation Video” provided by LBL ESD.
- Choose your Synergy demo site login credentials from the list found on “LBL Demo Site Logins”.
- Go to the Synergy Demo Environment and log in with the credentials you selected from the reference guide.

These self-paced training sessions can be performed any time to help you fully learn the Synergy Information System and should be used in tandem with the Synergy Demo Site.)
- Read the “Introduction to Synergy” document to help become even more familiar with Synergy.
- Review the documentation and training materials below so you can become more familiar with specific areas of Synergy.
ParentVUE
District Considerations:
- The ParentVUE will allow parents to do online registration, communicate with the school, upload documents, view their students progress and choose which notifications they would like to receive about their students progress.
Analytics
District Considerations:
- In the first year the analytics tool will have limited dashboards created by LBL ESD.
- LBL ESD will be creating a process to work with districts to determine what dashboards are needed.
Attendance
District Considerations:
- Schools can utilize both AM/PM-Daily and Period attendance within the same building as attendance type is designated by grade level.
- Front office staff and administrators can have the ability to see who has taken attendance and quickly send reminders to teachers who have not.
Enrollment
District Considerations:
- Students will be available to schedule the moment they are enrolled.
- Students will be available in the gradebook the moment they are scheduled.
Grading
District Considerations:
- District Level Gradebooks will replace “Templates” in Wazzle, can only be created before the start of a school year.
- Dual enrolled students will show at the primary enrolled school and print on primary report card with no manual transfer required.
- Teachers will have the ability to connect their gradebook to Google Classroom.
- Teachers will be able to send communications to students and parents through the gradebook.
Health
District Considerations:
- Parents will be able to enter immunization information during online registration and Synergy will validate that all immunizations are current.
- The student’s health profile will be visible to parents through the ParentVUE App.
Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
District Considerations:
- The first year there will be three components of MTSS available for use:
- Check In Check Out
- MTSS Plans
- Early Warning System – Will replace similar dashboards in Argos and includes ‘Early Warning Indicators’ for MS and ‘Dropout Prevention Management’ for HS.
- SWIS will no longer be needed by districts.
Reporting
District Considerations:
- CRDC reporting will be available out of Argos for the 21/22 reporting period and out of Synergy for the 23/24 reporting period.
- There will be some standard reports available when Synergy launches.
- LBL ESD will be creating a process to work with districts to determine what reports are needed.
- State reports will be created in Synergy but will need to be manually uploaded to the state.
Rollover
District Considerations:
- Most elementary schools will copy the current master schedule, make any known changes, and finalize the schedule in SILK by mid June. After July districts will make changes to the Schedule within Synergy.
- Secondary schools should build the 2023-2024 master schedule in SILK. The goal will be to build class sections, run and analyze loads, and schedule students as completely as possible by mid June. After July districts will make changes to the Schedule within Synergy.
- The district may cleanup their course catalog to a single term (not year-long) courses and course id numbers that are intuitive which will make scheduling easier within Synergy. This is not required however. Recommendations can be found in the following document: Course Numbering Recommendations
